The art of tattoo For a long time tattooing has been linked to rebellion, but it has gained the status of individual expression and served to eternalize meanings. There is a great variety of styles for tracing and filling, therefore the tattoo can transmit several sensations, among them: delicacy.

An expert and passionate about tattoos full of small details, with fine and very delicate lines, the tattoo artist Ana Abrahão explains that a delicate tattoo, besides the pleasing look, brings advantages such as easier and faster healing.

“The biggest advantage of a delicate tattoo is aesthetic, it has a lower risk of forming the famous keloids, because they damage the skin much less, faster healing, and also guarantees an easier maintenance, since it has less pigment stored in the same cavity.”, he says.

The best places to get a delicate tattoo

There is no restriction as to the place of the tattoo, after all, just like the design, the choice of the location is something personal, but when talking about tattoos for women delicate it is possible to list places where this type of tattoo looks beautiful. Tattoo artist Ana Abrahão listed the places often chosen to house a delicate tattoo, check it out:

  • Nape
  • Pulse
  • Forearm
  • Fingers
  • Ankle
  • Shoulder
  • Rib
  • Back
  • Calf
  • Thigh

Ana also gives tips on the relationship between the type of stroke and the choice of location: “For the fine stroke, the most indicated locations are those with smoother and taut skin and that renew less, such as the thigh, calf, arms, and back”, she says.

In addition, another factor that must be taken into account is the need for retouching, because some places are more prone to “fading”.

“The choice of drawing and location is more personal than technical, but there are certain places on the body that are not indicated for tattooing due to the skin’s own characteristics, places such as feet and hands, armpits, face, and ears are not places that guarantee durability for tattooing,” explains Ana.

16 small tattoo ideas that you can do

The delicacy of a design does not depend only on what is drawn, however it is what will be noticed first in people’s eyes. With that in mind, the expert in delicate tattoos gives the tip:

“The idea of the drawing must always be well thought out and matured before even looking for a tattoo artist, and the choice of tattoo artist is sometimes more important than the drawing itself, because normally he is the one who will put the idea of the tattoo on paper and that is what will make everything possible. So, look for a professional that presents in his portfolio a defined, concrete, and specialized work in the kind of drawing and line that you like the most and that works with the idea you want to tattoo”, Ana advises.

As for the size, it can also influence the delicacy of the tattoo, although it is not a determining factor. Check out 16 ideas of designs that can be tattooed in micro version and form delicate and inspiring tattoos:
