The lotus flower is a widely used symbol for tattoos, and it can be marked on the skin with different strokes and colors, according to your taste and your own idea about it.

In nature, the lotus flower is an aquatic plant native to Asia, famous for its use as an ornament and for its longevity – did you know that its seeds can germinate over up to 13 centuries?

The incredible aesthetic of the lotus flower, full of petals and mysticism, has even served as inspiration for the architecture of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, located in Dubai. Here’s how to make the magic of this flower a beautiful mark on your body.

The Meaning of the Lotus Flower

The lotus flower is related, above all, to life. Because it is a flower born from the mud, from the swamp, it also symbolizes overcoming, strength, the ability to go through difficulties and see the positive side of the situation. In Buddhism, it is also associated with purity and awakening of spirituality, for being born perfectly from an unexpected place.

According to tattoo artist Alexandre Wildmann, from the Electric Traditional Tattoo studio in São Paulo, there is no specific place on the body to tattoo the lotus flower.

“The best space to tattoo any kind of design, regardless of what it is, is that it has a good aesthetic and values the area of the body. An aesthetically perfect design can be beautiful without getting attached to the image,” he explains.

The dermopigmentador Gabriel Ferreira, from Kauai Studio, also believes that it doesn’t matter the place of the body, but that the tattoo is done with a lot of competence: “There isn’t a best place to tattoo a certain drawing, but the artist’s sensibility and perception to make it fit and flow with each one’s body. That is why the advice is always valid: look for a good tattoo artist, know his work, know the studio and the place where he works. All of this is a determining factor for you to have beautiful, tasteful work that you will want to show everyone.
